Direct Billing
What is Direct Billing
Most insurance companies allow for direct billing. When you book at our clinic we will obtain your insurance information and signed consents and ask your provider to pay us directly. If there is a co-pay or deductible owing, we will ask you to pay the amount that insurance does not cover.
Services Eligible for Direct Billing
- Chiropractic
- Psychotherapy
- Acupuncture
- Social Work
- Physiotherapy
- Registered Massage Therapy
- Osteopath Manual Therapy
Insurance Plans and Services not Eligible for Direct Billing
If your insurance plan does not allow for direct billing or a service that is not accepted for direct billing you are still able to be reimbursed for the visit. The visit will need to be paid in full, and you will be provided a receipt that contains all of the information you need to submit to your insurance online or through the mail. Once the insurance company approves the submission, payment will be sent directly to you.
We strongly encourage you to contact your insurance provider and collect information about your eligibility and coverage. As the policyholder, it is your responsibility to confirm the accuracy of the information collected and the exact details of your coverage including requirements for physician requisitions (some insurance plans require a physician referral). We are only able to direct the bill to your primary insurance plan. We are not able to coordinate benefits to secondary plans (spouse or other parent’s plan).
Motor Accident Insurance and WSIB Billing
If you are being treated for injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident, payment directly from you, is not required, when your claim and the treatment plan submitted on your behalf is approved. If you have been involved in a motor vehicle accident & have Extended Health Insurance through your employer or privately, your auto insurer requires your treatments to be billed to the Extended Health Plan (Private insurance) first. We will request your primary & secondary (if applicable) insurance information. Where possible we will directly bill the extended health plan and the balance will then be invoiced to your motor vehicle insurance.
For injuries sustained at the workplace, we do not require payment directly from you once your claim and proposed program of care are approved we will invoice WSIB directly for payments.
