Jenny Nighswander
About Jenny
Jenny graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Kinesiology specializing in Athletic Therapy and is currently completing her second year at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. She is a Certified Athletic Therapist (CAT(C)), Certified Personal Trainer, and Emergency First Responder. Originally from Newmarket, Jenny has spent her summers on Balsam Lake and values her connection to the Kawartha Lakes community.
Growing up, she competed in sports including downhill skiing and soccer, which helped foster her appreciation for movement and performance from an early age. Over time, that passion evolved beyond competitive sport and into an appreciation for everyday movement, whether through walking, running, strength training, or trying new activities like pickleball and softball. These experiences have shaped her belief that movement should be both enjoyable and sustainable, and that staying active can look different for everyone depending on their goals and lifestyle.
Over the past five years, Jenny has gained experience providing sideline coverage and working with athletes in a variety of settings. During her time at Acadia University, she worked closely with the varsity women’s rugby team and spent her summers covering local rugby games with athletes of all ages and levels of play. These experiences allowed her to develop strong skills in acute injury management, rehabilitation, and return-to-play planning.
Jenny takes an evidence-based, patient-centered approach to care, with a focus on individualized treatment, movement quality, and helping patients feel confident returning to sport, exercise, and everyday activity.
